Terms of service

Draft. This page is a working draft and is not yet final. It will be completed before the service is offered to the public. (Details still to add: company, address, supportEmail, governingLaw.)

These terms are between the operator of Lex360 ("we", "us") and the organisation or individual that holds a Lex360 account ("you"). By using Lex360 you agree to them.

The service

Lex360 provides English-teaching lessons, tests, homework and tools through a website. We may improve, change or remove features. We aim for high availability but do not promise the service will never be interrupted.

Accounts

You are responsible for the accounts you create, for keeping sign-in codes and passwords confidential, and for what happens under them. Teachers and administrators must be authorised by you. You must have the right to enter the personal data of any students you add, and to tell them how it is used.

Plans and payment

Each plan sets the number of teachers, students and placement-test accounts, and which features are included. You cannot exceed your plan's limits. Prices, billing periods and any free trial are shown before you subscribe. Subscriptions renew automatically each period until you cancel; you can cancel at any time from the billing page and keep the plan until the end of the period you paid for. Payments are taken by Stripe; we never see or store your card number. We will tell you in advance if a price changes. Prices may exclude taxes, which are added where required. Fees are non-refundable except where the law requires otherwise.

Acceptable use

Do not misuse the service: no attempts to break its security, no unlawful content, no sharing of an account between unrelated people, no copying of the lesson library to resell or to build a competing product, no automated scraping.

Content and licence

We own the lesson library and tools. We give you a non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use them with your students for the term of your plan. You own the content you add (such as notes and your own questions) and the records of your students; you give us permission to store and process them to provide the service.

Third-party services you connect

If you add your own API keys (for AI-drafted feedback or natural voices), the text sent to those providers is sent on your instruction and is governed by their terms. You are responsible for their charges.

Accuracy

Lessons and questions are drafted with AI assistance and checked automatically. We take care with them but cannot guarantee that every item is free of error. Scores and levels are a guide for teachers. Certificates are issued by the school or tutor that holds the account, on the rules that school sets (by default 90% in the end-of-level exam to move up, and 95% attendance for a CEFR certificate); Lex360 is not an examining body and a Lex360 certificate is not an official qualification.

Suspension and ending

You may stop using Lex360 at any time. We may suspend an account that breaks these terms or is unpaid, after notice where reasonable. After ending, we delete your data as described in the privacy policy.

Liability

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, and our total liability is limited to the fees you paid in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

Changes and law

We may update these terms; we will tell you of material changes in advance. These terms are governed by the law of the jurisdiction we will state here. Questions: the contact address on this site.
